Integrative Medicine
Integrative medicine is more a style of practice than it is an actual specialty. It can only be practiced by a fully licensed and experienced Physician who is also trained in methods of healing that do not fall under the definition of “Conventional Western Medicine”. It is the process of integrating/combining the best of these other forms of healing with the best of modern day Conventional Medicine. For example, it is not uncommon to integrate Homeopathy and Osteopathic manipulation together when treating the whole person. Massage therapy and acu-puncture can be used together as well. There are many combinations of therapies that enhance one another to promote the overall well being of the patient. Body, Mind and Spirit are more than just words. They are the foundation to balanced healing or integrative healing.
